1. Kuredu Express – The Crown Jewel

This is the dive site that experienced divers specifically travel to the Maldives for. Kuredu Express is a drift dive through a channel on the atoll‘s southern edge, where strong currents carry you past dense coral formations.

What makes it special: It has one of the highest documented concentrations of green sea turtles in the Maldives. The turtle activity peaks during the dry season (November to April), when visibility reaches 30 metres+.

The wreck has already become home to a small school of batfish, and regular encounters include stingrays, turtles, scorpionfish, octopus, and pufferfish.

Practical Information

Dive Packages

Diver packages typically include 10 shore dives per diver, free DAN dive accident insurance (PADI exclusive), free Nitrox for certified nitrox divers, and weight belt/weights/tanks.

Boat Dives

Two-tank morning boat dives depart at about 8:30am, with briefings and guides helping you understand the different dives and conditions. Boats typically return before 1pm, leaving your afternoons free. Boat transfer fees are paid locally.

Night Diving

House Reef Night Dive – Meet at 18:45 for briefing, 45-minute dive at maximum depth of 18 metres, mostly spent at the shipwreck. See sleeping Napoleon wrasse and bumphead parrotfish, lobsters, crabs, shrimps, nudibranchs, turtles resting on the reef, and sometimes sharks passing by in the dark.
