Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll to kick-off Easter with an Epic Celebration

One of the best family-friendly resorts in Maldives, Finolhu Baa Atoll gears up to welcome guests to its slice of paradise for an enchanted Easter celebration with a programme that includes football clinics with former professional footballer Steve Sidwell.

Sidwell, who played over 500 games for clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Fulham, now works as a pundit covering the premier League for TV and Radio broadcasters such as Sky Sports and the BBC, as well as being a co-host of the popular podcast, That Peter Crouch Podcast. 

As a qualified UEFA A license coach, Sidwell will host daily football clinics at Finolhu from 1st – 4th April 2024, catering for both children and adults. 

But the fun doesn’t stop there; from Tuesday, 26 March – to Wednesday, 10 April, families staying on the luxury island resort, renowned for its white powdery beaches, will be treated to a fun-filled Easter programme with entertaining activities and magical moments, including a Golden Egg Hunt, Enchanted Tea Party, and Easter Parade. 

To kick things off in style, the resort is hosting the ultimate Easter activity – The Golden Egg Hunt. The winner of which will be treated to a free four-night stay and a chance to return to paradise.

Rising Deep House and Electronic musician, DJ PAN, from Mykonos, will be entertaining guests with his melodic beats at key events, including the Easter Gala Dinner after party. 

In collaboration with one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, a thrilling “kitchen takeover” will take place as the Ministry of Crab showcases its most famous dishes at Seaside Finolhu’s Crab Shack. Set on the island’s sandbank, the Crab Shack oozes rustic charm and low-key vibes with the very best seafood the Indian Ocean has to offer.  

For families looking to create once-in-a-lifetime memories, the resort’s ‘Dine Above the Tide’ experience is a must. Seaside Finolhu’s unique overwater dining experience is set in the heart of the turquoise lagoon, situated exactly five degrees north of the Equator. It is accessible only by boat and available for two to eight guests. Prepared by your own chef and served by a dedicated butler, the carefully curated menus include the finest steak and seafood. Combining exclusivity and seclusion with fine cuisine on a tropical island paradise, 5° North takes destination dining to a whole new level.

Families looking to continue their culinary adventure can embark on an epicurean journey of discovery as they sample the delights of local Maldivian flavours at the Beach Kitchen. Prepared during a live cooking show by local chefs from neighbouring islands, the night also includes local artisans’ and traditional musical performances of Bodu Beru, meaning “big drums” in Dhivehi. 

For adventure seekers, the Coral Tree Planting, led by Marine Biologist Laura Ulloa, is the perfect activity. Laura will guide participants through planting fragments of ‘opportunity coral’ – pieces of naturally broken coral – attaching to tree frames and placing the resort’s lagoon to create a nursery. 

When night falls, the activities continue with the resort’s Coastal Social and White Party. With chilled beach beats, sundowner cocktails and acrobatic performances, there’s no better way to end the day in paradise.
