Avani Hotels makes Brand Debut in Venice

Avani Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its European portfolio with the launch of Avani Rio Novo Venice. This opening follows the debut of Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel and marks the brand’s second property in Italy.
Set against the backdrop of Dorsoduro with its ancient canals and centuries-old bridges, the 144-key hotel offers a gateway to a neighborhood known for its eateries, local bars and art galleries, including Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The hotel is just steps from Campo Santa Margherita, a bustling hub that attracts students and locals alike.
Avani Rio Novo showcases Italian Rationalist architecture, while the interiors celebrate Venice’s connection to the world of cinema. Expect common areas and rooms dotted with cinema memorabilia to the signature restaurant hung with portraits of movie stars and a mini-library with magazines and books on the subject. Guestrooms and suites in monochrome shades have parquet floors and full-height windows.
At 8 Millimetri Cicchetti & Wine, guests can relax amidst black-and-white photographs of Italian cinema icons or enjoy an espresso and a hearty breakfast. The restaurant also provides grab-and-go options for coffees, pastries and light bites. For meetings and events, the restaurant can be combined with meeting spaces on the ground floor, creating an extended venue accommodating up to 130 people.
Guests can enjoy a range of curated experiences at Avani Rio Novo Venice. Wellness enthusiasts can start their day with a morning run guided by a local jogger along a picturesque route. Art lovers can immerse themselves in the world of mask-making, guided by one of the city’s mask makers renowned for his work in Hollywood productions. They can also participate in a Murano glass workshop where they can learn how to create glass beads.
Avani Rio Novo is situated 30 minutes from Venice Marco Polo Airport by car and a 10-minute walk from the train station. It is also within easy reach of the car and cruise terminals.
