We've reached the end of a very successful first quarter of 2022. We had the pleasure of welcoming more than 35% of our repeat guests and newcomers to our shores. Most of them have been unable to travel for the past two years due to the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic. Now that pre-arrival PCR testing is a thing of the past, we are seeing more happy guests arriving at our secluded heaven. 

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Veligandu has been awarded the TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice Award 2022 for the eighth consecutive year. With this award, we celebrate Veligandu's consistent ranking amongst the top 10% of hotels worldwide. Summer started with a bang of energy, enthusiasm, and normalcy. We are resuming activities that were suspended during the pandemic. We are returning to our usual pre-Covid-19 schedule by restarting our weekly Marhaba and Repeaters Cocktail parties, Team Village Tours, local island tours to Rasdhoo, outdoor sports activities, etc. Guests are now allowed to play football and volleyball with the team members again, to the delight of everyone.

The forthcoming June is going to be a very eventful month. An array of events will be carried out throughout the month, from beach dinners to our fourth coral frame planting, yoga sessions, beach cleaning, and reef cleaning to mark World Reef Awareness Day, International Yoga Day, World Ocean Day, World Environment Day and Father's Day.

FISHING ADVENTURE

If you are looking for inspiration for Fathers Day or adventure, the Veligandu team recommends ocean fishing. Experience casting fishing or hand line fishing in a traditional dhoni boat in local Maldivian style or take the deep-sea fishing vessel. Veligandu practices sustainable fishing and the option for guests to have their own catch served during the meal times at the restaurant.

Best vacation ever

"We went to Veligandu at the beginning of May 2022, to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We couldn't have made a better choice. The island is beautiful, with clean sands and well-kept gardens. All common spaces, restaurants, bars, spas and others are very well maintained. We stayed in a water villa with a jacuzzi and it was fantastic, they are very spacious, with simple but tasteful decor. Room cleaning is done twice a day which provides us with additional comfort. All the staff is extremely professional, attentive and friendly, they try their best to make our stay really incredible."
