September was an eventful month, with World Tourism Day marked with fun beach activities for the team. There was fine dining on the beach with a Bavarian flair for Oktoberfest. A dive cleanup and an island cleanup on World Clean-up Day, a week of team-building activities on International Housekeeping Week, and a three-day wellness journey session for World Wellness Weekend.

The culinary team has set out to provide you with an unforgettable evening of romantic ambience under the moonlight and starlit skies with succulent, sizzling, and satisfying choices of beach dine-out events. Spooky Halloween, on October 31, will be marked with a beach diner. In addition, we have a Chef Table, a food and wine pairing dinner with a sommelier is a fine dining experience that will take your dining experience on Veligandu to the next level on October 17.

Forthcoming is the most awaited and captivating time of the year - the festive season. We have created a dazzling program to set the right mood during the festivities in your Secluded Haven. The festive program has an excellent lineup to thrill and excite our guests this season. There are curated activities, barefoot sunset cocktail gatherings, deserted island escapades, luxury yacht adventures, a fun Beach Olympics and exotic dining indulgences and everything in between. In addition, Veligandu will have a novel selection of live entertainment featuring local and international artists showcasing a mix of Maldivian and intercontinental heritage and culture and much more. By now, most of you are aware that a thoughtful renovation of the island is due to happen from June 1, 2023, and the resort will be temporarily closed for 1.5 years. Improvements will incorporate enhanced sustainability initiatives and technological advancements while holding true to the values of genuine Maldivian hospitality found at Veligandu. Veligandu will not lose its charm. We will welcome you to a new, modern, luxurious, and well-updated resort.

HAMMERHEAD SHARKS

Guests visiting Veligandu from October to April are just in time to see the elusive Hammerhead. The sharks roam at ‘Big Blue’ dive point, a 15-minutes boat ride from the resort.
