Michael Wieser Returns as CEO at Lily Hotels

19 March, 2025
Michael Wieser has returned to the Maldives as the chief executive officer of Lily Hotels, marking a new chapter of growth and innovation for the company’s renowned, award-winning resorts.
Mr. Wieser previously served as CEO of Lily Hotels before the COVID-19 pandemic, leading the company through a period of success and innovation. With 35 years of experience in international hospitality, he has held leadership positions with some of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands, demonstrating a proven track record in operations, guest satisfaction, and strategic business expansion.
Mr. Wieser will be overseeing the development and growth of the two resorts under the Lily portfolio. Lily Beach Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort that made history as the first all-inclusive resort in the Maldives, pioneering the concept of premium all-inclusive luxury at the destination. Continuously leading in innovation and new ideas, the resort redefines the guest experience with exceptional dining, world-class entertainment, and curated adventures, ensuring an unparalleled five-star stay.
Meanwhile, Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa stands out as an award-winning, all-natural island renowned for its unique double house reef, which offers some of the best diving and snorkelling in the Maldives. With spacious luxury villas, lush tropical vegetation, a litany of experiences above and underwater, and unmatched privacy, Hideaway provides an idyllic sanctuary for travellers seeking both adventure and tranquillity.
Speaking from Hideaway, Mr. Wieser said: “I am extremely glad to return to Lily Hotels and the Maldives, leading the resorts alongside our dedicated team and rejoining an organisation that has always been close to my heart”. He continued, “Our focus will be on strengthening our presence in key international markets, ensuring our resorts continue to set benchmarks in luxury, service excellence, and guest satisfaction.”
Acknowledging the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Wieser emphasised the industry’s resilience and the importance of adapting to a post-pandemic world. “The hospitality and tourism industry has learned invaluable lessons from this period. We will apply these best practices to navigate the evolving landscape and continue delivering personalisd service that exceeds guest expectations.”
Under his leadership, both Lily Beach and Hideaway are poised to reinforce their position as premier properties that ensure unforgettable experiences in the Maldives’ most breathtaking destinations and embark on a new era of development and exciting experiences ahead.
