Dusit Thani Maldives resort has named Khun Jean-Louis Ripoche as new General Manager effective 1st October 2023.

With more than four decades of experience in the hospitality industry, including 25 years in leadership positions at distinguished hotels and resorts across the globe, Khun Jean-Louis brings a wealth of expertise to the company.

Khun Jean-Louis embarked on his remarkable hospitality journey in 1982 as a Management Trainee at Le Meridien Abu Dhabi, a part of the Starwood family. From there, he charted a noteworthy career with Starwood, assuming leadership roles at various Le Meridien destinations, including Le Meridien Boston, Le Meridien Kuwait, Le Meriden Phuket, Le Meridien Jakarta, Le Meridien Hotel & Tower Bangkok, and Le Meridien Khao Lak.

Khun Jean-Louis has also served as the General Manager of Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel & Towers, Tel Aviv, Israel; Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa; W Maldives Retreat & Spa; Mövenpick Hotel and Casino Malabata, Tangier, Morocco, and as the Cluster General Manager of Kathmandu Marriott and Fairfield Kathmandu by Marriott, Nepal.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has consistently achieved outstanding results, making substantial contributions to the success of the hotels he has managed during operational, pre-opening, and new opening phases. His accomplishments have consistently revolved around driving revenue growth and enhancing guest and employee satisfaction.

Before joining Dusit International, he acquired invaluable experience as the General Manager of Kandima Maldives Resort, where he skillfully oversaw resort operations and adeptly navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He enriched the guest experience by curating an extensive entertainment programme that showcased local culture. A French national, Khun Jean-Louis is fluent in French and English. He holds diplomas from the Hotel School of Paris, ‘Jean Drouant,’ including a Post-Graduate in Restaurant Management and Hotel Operation.

Additionally, he possesses professional diplomas and certificates in Classical Cooking from Ferrandi, the School of the Chamber of Commerce Paris.

Reporting directly to Khun Prateek Kumar, Senior Vice President – Operations, Khun Jean-Louis will be responsible for driving Dust Thani Maldives’ success and ensuring the resort meets its financial and operational objectives.
