Mirihi Island Resort to temporarily close in 2025 for major renovation of boutique property
03 November, 2024
Mirihi Island Resort, a beloved gem in the Maldives known for its intimate atmosphere and exceptional service, will temporarily close its doors from May 5 to November 30, 2025, to undergo a comprehensive series of enhancements. The resort, which has provided cherished experiences to guests for over two decades, announced the closure to facilitate renovations that promise to elevate its unique appeal while preserving the tranquil charm for which it is renowned.
General Manager Mohamed Shareef highlighted the resort’s unwavering commitment to excellence: “At Mirihi, our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and unparalleled service to our esteemed guests remains at the forefront of our values. These enhancements are thoughtfully designed to elevate the comfort, elegance, and functionality of our villas and resort facilities.”
The planned renovations include significant updates across various areas of the resort. All existing villas will see refreshed interiors and upgraded amenities. The spa will be rejuvenated with a new interior design, and a brand-new gym offering panoramic views of the lagoon will be added. Key dining and entertainment venues—Anba, Dhonveli, and Muraka—will also receive new furnishings to enrich guests’ experiences.
One of the most anticipated additions is a new infinity pool, which will offer breathtaking views of the lagoon. Moreover, four new 2-bedroom Water Suites, each featuring a private pool, will be introduced, catering to guests seeking enhanced luxury.
Despite the resort’s temporary closure, Shareef assured that the essence of Mirihi Island Resort will remain unchanged. “Our highest priority is to continue offering personalised service that embraces the island’s natural beauty and rich marine life,” he stated. The resort will maintain its signature serene ambiance, characterised by the absence of televisions in villas, motorised watersports, and loud music, ensuring a tranquil, immersive retreat.
The Mirihi Team, recognised for their exceptional hospitality, will be supported throughout the closure. “Our award-winning Mirihi Team is at the heart of our success,” Shareef said. “During the resort’s closure, we will be fully supporting our dedicated Team members, recognising the essential role they play in creating the warmth and excellence that defines the Mirihi experience.”
Guests eager to experience the enhanced Mirihi Island Resort can look forward to booking their stays for December 2025 onwards. The resort’s reservations team will remain available during the closure period to assist with bookings and inquiries.
“We deeply appreciate your patience and support during this phase of refurbishment and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome you back to an elevated Mirihi experience,” Shareef concluded, expressing gratitude to loyal guests.
