Kuramathi Maldives Concludes an Unforgettable Holiday Season with Festive Celebrations

Kuramathi Maldives joyously concluded its meticulously curated festive programme, marking an extraordinary experience for guests of all ages. From 21 December 2024 to 1 January 2025, the island was transformed into a haven of celebration, offering an exciting lineup of events that left lasting memories for all guests.

The festivities began on the 21 December, with a dazzling Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the iconic Kuramathi Sandbank. This was followed by an array of fun events, including live performances, cooking demonstrations, a cocktail competition and a wine tasting event. The spirited atmosphere continued with playful competitions and sporting events, featuring lively games and football and volleyball matches with the Kuramathi team.

The festivities culminated with an unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration. The farewell cocktail party at the sandbank was followed by a grand gala buffet, and the highlight of the night was a special countdown to 2025, ensuring the perfect start to the new year. Kuramathi Maldives extends its heartfelt gratitude to all guests who participated in the celebrations, making this festive season truly magical and one to remember.

Join the Muraka Project at Kuramathi Eco Center: Be Part of Coral Restoration

At Kuramathi Maldives, we are dedicated to preserving the vibrant marine ecosystem surrounding the island, with the Muraka Project. The Muraka Project is not just about large-scale restoration—it’s about involving the guests, in the process. Join Eco Centre team every Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm and become part of this environmental journey.

During the excursion, you will learn about coral fragmentation, a vital technique used to restore damaged reefs. Our experts will guide you through the process, explain the science behind it, and discuss why coral restoration is essential for the health of our oceans. You’ll then create your own coral frame, which will be added to the restoration project.

This is a unique, hands-on experience where you can make a real contribution to the health of our house reef. To make this experience even more memorable, you can opt to receive updates and photos every six months, allowing you to track the progress of your coral as it grows and thrives in its new environment. It’s a meaningful way to stay connected with nature and see the lasting impact of your involvement.

From 10 to 16 February 2025, Jo will be on Kuramathi offering live portrait sessions for couples and families, capturing the essence of your most treasured moments. Jo’s relaxed, friendly approach ensures a fun and engaging experience.

In just 10 minutes she will create a personalised portrait on an illustrated Kuramathi postcard that you’ll be able to take home as a beautiful keepsake, perfect for framing and cherishing for years to come. For younger guests, Jo will also host a special Workshop at Bageecha Kids. The Kids can join Jo for a fun and interactive 1-hour workshop.
