COMO Maalifushi launches Play by COMO Summer Camp for Kids in the Maldives

In Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic children’s book, The Little Prince, the boy looks up to the stars and his happiness is infinite. COMO Maalifushi treasures that wonder in all its younger guests — and offer creative opportunities to expand their worlds at the resort's unique Play by COMO Summer Camp in the Maldives, including an astronaut in residence.

A beautiful pearl in the pristine corner of the Maldives, the magnificent 5*-star resort pleased to invite adventurers from ages eight to 16 to embark on a summer quest on private island at COMO Maalifushi in the Maldives, from August 12th to 20th 2022 – led by American astronaut, Nicole Stott.

Nicole Stott is a NASA astronaut (retired), aquanaut, artist, author, engineer, and most importantly a mother. She is also the co-founder of the Space for Art foundation. Her career at NASA spanned almost three decades. She has spent 104 days in space at the International Space Station (ISS) and was the tenth woman in history to conduct a space walk.

This camp promises both adventure and education in an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience.  Join us at any date and jump into a fun-filled itinerary of space-themed island activities that include:

Stargazing in the Evenings

Let our astronaut-in-residence regale you with up close and personal tales of the stars. The dark sky reserves of the Maldives allow for incredible viewing of the Milky Way, even from the naked eye.

Space Suit Decorating

Leave your unique mark on a real space suit using special paints. If the force is with us, Nicole Stott’s artwork project will be worn by astronauts on space flights, reinforcing a connection between art and science.

Postcards to Space

Join Stott’s international space mail project by writing to the brave astronauts in space. The messages and artwork will be combined with contributions from children around the world and sent to put a smile on the space-travellers’ faces.

Space-training Snorkel Safari

Stott once spent 18 days living underwater in preparation for spaceflight, at the Aquarius Undersea Laboratory. Hear about her experience, ask questions, then get a glimpse into the feeling on a snorkel safari in our house reef.
