The Maldives wins the “Best Luxury Destination of the Year” 2021 award by Connoisseur Circle

The Maldives has honored the “best luxury destination of the year” 2021 award from a popular luxury publication for the German speaking markets known as the Connoisseur Circle.

It is the only German-language magazine that exclusively addresses luxury travelers featuring high-end hotels and exclusive destinations worldwide. 

The Connoisseur Circle Hospitality Awards is an initiative by the publication and are known to be among the most prestigious prizes in the international luxury hotel industry. The award winners are chosen each year, highly promoting the winning country.

“We are extremely honored to receive the ‘Best luxury destination of the year’ award from the Connoisseur Circle Hospitality Awards. We are grateful for the recognition we have received for the work undertaken by each and every stakeholder in the Maldives tourism industry” said Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company, MMPRC, cited the official tourism account of Maldives, Visit Maldives.

According to Visit Maldives Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed also took note of the triumphant revival of the Maldivian industry and the ongoing vaccination campaign in the destination.

Moreover, Visit Maldives is set to conduct a year-long campaign with Connoisseur Circle making use of a multitude of platforms in both the online and offline channels of the publication in order to advertise Maldives as a safe haven and uplift the destination’s presence in the German luxury market.

Despite the global pandemic, Maldives has welcomed a total of 555,494 travelers in 2020 and has surpassed a half-million mark till date. Amongst the many activities planned for the remainder of the year includes, social media campaigns, joint marketing campaigns with global stakeholders, familiarization trips and visibility campaigns. Several marketing activities and strategies have also been shifted to digital platforms in order to promote the destination whilst adapting to the evolving situation.
