The Drawing Season of Mantas

Reethi Beach Resort, positioned within the territory of Hanifaru Bay, the Manta capital of the world, is one of the few places in the world where you get to be up close and personal with the magnificent Mantas. Reethi Beach Resort, meaning the resort with a beautiful beach in Dhivehi the local language, has more than just ‘pretty’ to offer for its guests.

Among many sustainability efforts that we have initiated, one of the proudest projects we have succeeded in is the one that gives an endless supply of lettuce. Quite literally, this project has reached tremendous success to the point we are now able to contribute to most of the lettuce demand we have in the island. In kilos, it produces a weekly supply of 30 kilograms.

Located within Reethi Garden where various types of organized plantations are grown, and occasional cooking classes are held the hydroponic planting system supports the growth of the lettuce in controlled greenhouse enclosures. If you are already at Reethi Beach Resort, or if you plan to visit the resort in the coming days, do not forget to request a Reethi Garden tour from the front office.

If you want more immersion into the nature, you can even book your own Maldivian cooking class where you will have the opportunity to harvest your own produce from Reethi Garden, for your cooking needs.
