Norwegian Prima debuts in the Western Mediterranean

After completing a summer program in Northern Europe, the Norwegian Prima has recently arrived in the Western Mediterranean for the first time.
After repositioning earlier this month, the Norwegian Cruise Line vessel is set to offer nine- to ten-night cruises to destinations in Spain, Italy and France.
The first voyage in the series departed from Barcelona on Oct. 13.
Sailing to Civitavecchia, the nine-night itinerary featured visits to Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Marseille, Cannes, Genoa and Naples, as well as Livorno – where the Prima is set to spend two days docked.
Other destinations being visited by the ship during its fall program in the Western Mediterranean include La Spezia, Toulon, Cagliari and Cartagena.
On Nov. 20, the Norwegian Prima departs Europe on a 11-night repositioning cruise to North America.
The transatlantic cruise sails from Barcelona to New York City and features calls to destinations in Spain, Portugal and Bermuda.
During the 2023-24 winter, the 142,500-ton vessel is set to offer a series of seven-night cruises in the Caribbean departing from Galveston.
The itineraries feature visits to a selection of destinations in the Western Caribbean, such as Mexico’s Cozumel and Costa Maya, and Roatán, in Honduras.
The Norwegian Prima is also scheduled to make regular calls in Harvest Caye, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island destination in Belize.
In 2024, the ship is scheduled to offer a third summer program in Northern Europe, in addition to two cruises in the Mediterranean in October.
First in a series of six ships known as Prima Class, the Norwegian Prima was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and entered service in 2022.
According to Norwegian Cruise Line, the 3,215-guest vessel was designed to elevate the guest experience, offering enhanced features and offerings.
Among the facilities is the three-deck Prima Speedway, the world’s largest go-kart racetrack at sea, in addition to Indulge, an upscale food hall that features different specialties and experiences.
