Well-being breakfast gives way to languorous afternoons, lounging at a seaside table with sand between your toes while fish feed in the water below. In the evening, ocean winds. Piquant curries. Succulent oysters. The cool, red centre of a Wagyu sirloin served rare.
Celsius tantalises the palate with a selection of flavours throughout the day. Whether you’re looking for shrines to sushi or a full-blown nigiri experience, you’ll find it all at SALT over-water restaurant serving modern Japanese cuisine with a flirtatious Latin twist. Here you can wind down with a cup of premium sake and some baked Maldivian lobster, all within the restaurant’s luxurious, beautifully updated and sensuous surrounds. With the sparkling ocean reflecting the rays of the afternoon sun, the atmosphere here couldn’t get any more romantic - you’ll surely get an exciting and heart-filling, gourmet experience.
An authentic but not traditional the menu showcases a variety of dishes from its three kitchens: the main kitchen, the sushi counter and the robata grill. Shared dishes are prepared using the finest quality ingredients and feature simple yet exquisite presentation.
In the traditional Izakaya style of informal eating and drinking, Salt serves up some astonishing Japanese food, whether you’ve bagged a ringside seat by the kitchen or an alfresco terrace. The menu is divided into 23 categories – to be enjoyed in any order – which have been designed to unlock the umami (fifth) taste.
To discover the epicurean secrets of Salt, on offer is a line-up of immaculate dishes with pin-sharp flavours and oh-so-pretty embellishments: a procession of high-art sushi and sashimi, explosive stuff from the robata grill (Japanese wagyu striploin saga or beef short ribs hokkaido with smoky teriyaki sauce, crunchy daikon, micro greens), shrimp tempura with shisu and citrus mayo etc. A roll of crispy tuna comes with a dash of fiery wasabi sauce, chives, micro herbs, tanuki, takuang, spicy mayonnaise & sesame seeds; while the miso marinated black cod fillet is served with an intriguing dollop of horseradish, crunchy lotus root, bok choy, snow peas, yuzu miso. The vegetable tempura, which include battered ginger root, delivered deep-fried decadence. It also has an extensive sushi selection. Although not cheap, the presentation is on point and the results delicious.
As for 'Latin twist' Mexican food is alive and only a mighty fine tapas or a spot-on tacos are enough to make You smile from ear to ear.
Drinks menu features an amazing, trend-setting cocktails and matching wines are tailor-made for SALT's high-rolling punters. Sake hunters should check out Salt's 'SAKES BY YUMEGOKORO' menu, but for everything else – including one-dish wonders – it’s all here including swift and friendly service.
