Disney Destiny: What to expect from Disney’s Newest ship

Disney Cruise Line has shared details of Disney Destiny, its new heroes-and-villains-inspired ship, setting sail in late 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Both heroes and villains from across the Disney universe will take center stage aboard the Disney Destiny. A range of Disney, Pixar and Marvel characters will be the inspiration behind themed venues and entertainment aboard the ship, including new lounges celebrating Cruella de Vil and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Guests will encounter Maleficent, Hades, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and Oogie Boogie through a variety of shows, meet-and-greets and special appearances throughout the ship.

Each stateroom aboard the Disney Destiny will showcase custom artwork depicting Disney legends. Most staterooms will offer the line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will offer the option of a connecting door that adjoins staterooms to accommodate larger groups. Large concierge staterooms and suites will sport artwork inspired by Disney Animation’s “Fantasia.” Concierge guests will have access to exclusive areas and amenities, including a concierge lounge and private sun deck. Seven oceanview rooms located directly above the bridge and adorned in the distinctive iconography of Pixar’s “The Incredibles” will provide floor-to-ceiling views.

The ship will also offer four royal suites: the Hero Suites inspired by Disney Animation’s “Hercules;” and IncrediSuites invoking the exploits of “The Incredibles” through a mid-century modern esthetic inspired by the Pixar films.

Disney Destiny will also debut a new dining experience, Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, inspired by the music of the Disney film. As families dine, an ensemble of musicians and storytellers will take the stage in the center of the restaurant. Performances will include productions of “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata” and more.

Edna Mode’s lab, where the fashion designer from Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Incredibles” films whips up outfits for the Supers, will be transformed into a confectionery at the new Edna Á La Mode Sweets. The lab’s modern sewing equipment will be repurposed as sweet-making mechanisms meant to entertain Jack-Jack, the unpredictable and hilariously unstable super baby. Offerings include a selection of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats.

De Vil’s piano lounge is inspired by Cruella de Vil of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” and the 2021 live action film. The adults-only lounge will serve martinis, cocktails, wines and bubblies. One side of De Vil’s will be open to the Grand Hall, allowing guests to sit back with a drink and enjoy a prime view of the ship’s gathering space.

Just off the Grand Hall, two casual walk-up cafés will serve a selection of coffee, tea, specialty beverages and snacks. Café Megara, named for the witty and independent heroine of Disney Animation’s “Hercules,” will pay homage to the film’s ancient world of Greek gods and legendary heroes. Café Merida will be inspired by the flame-haired heroine of Pixar’s “Brave” with a Celtic-centered design that invokes her family’s Scottish Highlands heritage.

At Cask and Cannon pub, guests will join the ranks of the “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Guests can enjoy live televised sporting events and a menu of specialty and vintage rums alongside a selection of brews served straight from the barrel in true pirate style.

Guests will be welcomed to sip craft cocktails among the 999 happy haunts of Disney Parks lore at the Haunted Mansion Parlor. This experience will first debut aboard the Disney Treasure in December 2024. Characters from "Haunted Mansion" attractions around the world will come out to socialize in mysterious ways throughout the experience, along with a few new seafaring arrivals and an original storyline focused on a ship captain. An array of haunted homewares and spooky souvenirs inspired by the bar will be available in shopping venues aboard the ship.

Disney Destiny will also introduce a quirky new storyline filled with Disney Animation villains to AquaMouse, the line’s signature attraction at sea, a 760-foot-long water ride towering over the upper decks of the ship. Additionally, “Sing a Silly Song” will be one of four shows available on AquaMouse aboard the ship, complete with music, lighting, special effects, and more.
